What I Ate Wednesday: Ribs, Ya’ll

WIAWbutton What I Ate Wednesday: Ribs, Yall

Good morning! Happy hump-day, all. Thanks to those of you who joined in on #FitBlog chat last night and played along as I hosted. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to say a ‘good-bye’ at the end of the evening, because I ended up in Twitter-jail! Can you even believe that? Luckily, I wasn’t jailed until about 9:00, so we didn’t miss any questions, but I did feel like I left a few people hanging. And of course, there’s nothing more that I want to do then tweet, when I get put in Twitter-jail.

Anyway.

It’s Wednesday, and though I skipped last week, we’re back for another What I Ate Wednesday!

Chicken Stew What I Ate Wednesday: Ribs, Yall

Wednesday, January 9th:

Tonight was kind of weird – I had an AIGA meeting so I didn’t eat until I got home, which was late. And clearly it wasn’t memorable … because I’ve got nothing. No clue what dinner was.

Thursday, January 10th:

I didn’t feel like cooking, so we had B-Bop’s for dinner. I actually never had B-Bop’s until December, but seriously, how did I not? It’s so good! Best fast-food cheeseburger by far.

Friday, January 11th:

Um … this won’t make you proud. I got home from work, had a piece of beef jerky, went shopping with a friend, and then proceeded to have popcorn for dinner at the theater. Well, it was good …

Saturday, January 12th:

Saturday was Phyll’s birthday, so we went out to dinner. He chose Texas Roadhouse, which has been open in Ames for quite awhile, but we hadn’t gotten to yet. We got our country on, and headed over. It was soooo busy. I couldn’t even believe it. But once we got a table, we got our food super quick. We both got a half rack of ribs, and for my sides, I got a Caeser salad and a sweet potato. We also got a “Cactus Bloom” appetizer. And of course, had some buttered rolls! Let’s just say, there were a LOT of leftovers.

Sunday, January 13th:

We decided to keep it simple and made leftovers from Texas Roadhouse. I also baked up some sweet potato wedges (I had no leftover sweet potato from the restaurant). So good!

Monday, January 14th:

Well, we still had ribs left, even after having them as leftovers one night. Guess we made that meal stretch! So we made those up, and then I made some Gnocchi, which we’d never made before. I thought they were pretty good! And, mixed veggies for me.

Tuesday, January 15th:

Phyll’s a doll and cooked, so we got a delicious dinner of chicken stew for dinner. Yum!

Did you try any new foods this week?

Haha, not that impressive! I should have mentioned that it was pre-made. So all I did was boil! But they were pretty tasty.

I have to comment on your self-depreciating popcorn meal description. Mark and I used to make regular weekly movie dates and I would have popcorn for dinner.

Though, I don’t do that anymore, but not because it’s necessarily bad to have popcorn for dinner. It’s because I’m a freak about chemical things and I have no clue what’s in movie popcorn. However, supposedly Cinemark doesn’t use transfats to pop theirs, so pop on.

Haha I just felt very unbalanced about that dinner. Oh, not to mention I felt not great after. Something about butter on a mostly-empty stomach.

Also true about the chemical thing, though. Wish the chemicals didn’t make it so darn good!
