Coming up Short
Hey all, and happy Friday! Who’s ready for the weekend? Just me?
For many of you who might follow me on Twitter (and if you don’t, you should), you may have noticed a Tweet from me this morning:

It’s true, I’ve felt like I’ve been in a funk all week.
Then, I went to think about a ‘Fitness Friday’ post to share … and came up a bit short. As in, I worked out once this week.
I had a stellar run on Saturday – 5 miles! But that’s technically last week. On Tuesday, I had a not-so-great run on the dreadmill. But that’s it. It made me think though. Could my not making time for workouts this week have accounted for this funky mood? I’m tired, kind of cranky, and just not ‘right’, you know?
I probably could have planned out my week a bit better. I knew that Wednesday & Thursday workouts were out of the question, but I could have made time on Sunday and Monday.
Today’s a new day, though. And the gym is calling my name, so that’s where I’m headed after work. Let’s do this. Have a good weekend, all, and happy workouts (and happy runs, although that just sounds kind of… gross).
Do you get in a ‘funk’ when you don’t work out?

Seriously, if I don’t make it to the gym as normally scheduled, I am a horrible person to be around. I get all cranky and whine about how I want to be at the gym. We can’t even head to that part of town without me gazing lovingly out the car window in the direction of the gym.

Lol … I love the part about gazing lovingly in that direction.

I have been in a funk all month… it finally started lifting the other day. FINALLY!
Feb 18, 2013 @ 20:30:41
Woohoo! Isn’t that the best feeling?

I was just talking about this to someone at work (well, kinda); he was saying that he never has the energy to work out. But I feel like it’s a catch-22; you work out, you’re overall more energized, you workout more. If you don’t, you’re stuck at the bottom.

So true! That’s why it’s so hard to get started with exercise, I think.

Oh my gosh, me too! The gym is SO boring. I’m ready for Spring to officially arrive!

I think that funks are natural. Maybe it’s just your body telling you that it needs some rest.

I skipped my workouts 2 days in a row due to doctors appts and Valentine’s stuff and I can sure tell a difference. I hate skipping workouts because I do feel funky but I’m back in the groove today! Have a great weekend!
